A long walk
A game about thinking.
A long walk
By David Rogerson
There is a land with no one in it.
An old man walks across it, carrying only a staff and a bundle. The country goes on and on, through snow, heather, pine, marsh and other landscapes. Here and there things have been left behind: a chapel, a well, a ring of stones, a grave, a bridge, a hot spring.
Tap the land and he sets off, thinking as he goes. Books lie along his way, and the ones he picks up shape what he thinks. He can stop and sit in stillness, or lie down and sleep, and each opens onto another layer of the world.
Leave the game open and he will keep walking until you ask him to stop. The wind, the rain and the birds keep him company, and a soundtrack rises out of the places he passes through.
There are no points to score and no enemies to beat. There is only the walk, and what it stirs in you.
